ScrapSaver 2.01 of 7/20/88
--------------------------
Revision History
----------------
Version 2.01 fixes a subtle bug with zero sized scraps.
Version 2.0 is an internally reworked but provides identicle functionality.
Version 1.5 allows you to skip installing ScrapSaver by holding down
the mouse button or the shift key at boot time. It will draw a clipboard
icon with an X inside to signal this. This icon will also show up if
ScrapSaver could not be installed for other reasons such as the if you're
not using System 4.0 or higher.
Version 1.4 adds a notification feature which draws an icon on the
screen at boot time to let you know what was read off the ClipBoard
File. The ScrapSaver icon used by Finder has also been changed.
Version 1.3 corrects an obscure initialization bug which
showed up in Juggler.
Version prior to 1.2 will not save your Clipboard if you are using
System 4.1 (everyone is using the latest system software, right?!)
because System 4.1 no longer writes the scrap file on _ShutDown.
Version 1.2 corrects this by adding a ShutDownProc to write the scrap.
ScrapSaver now has better error checking for empty Clipboard files.
General Info
------------
ScrapSaver is a small utility to read in the Clipboard at boot time.
This means your Clipboard contents will always be around, even if you
reboot or turn your computer off. To use ScrapSaver, you must be using
System 4.1. Install it by simply dragging it into your System Folder.
Note MacsBug's reboot (RB) command does not call _ShutDown so the
Clipboard file is not properly updated. Current versions of TMON
also neglect to call _ShutDown but it will probably be fixed soon.
Certainly a tiny thing but I find it enhances my perception of
the Macintosh desktop metaphor. And its absolutely free. Please
include this text file when you give a copy of ScrapSaver to someone
or upload it to a bbs.
Bug reports and comments are should be directed to one of the
